Josh #1

Operations Manager & Host

Meet Josh #1!

What is the best part about being a trivia host?
The people! Getting the chance to build relationships, seeing familiar faces week after week and, if I’m lucky, getting a laugh or two. It truly is the greatest job there is!

What is the best piece of hosting advice you have ever received?
“The one unforgivable sin is to be boring.”

What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
I jokingly say that movies are the only thing I like, but they really are the most beautiful and complete art form. There is no better form of storytelling, in my opinion. If I could do nothing but watch movies, I’d have reached the ultimate peak of life.

What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
I love a cold brew with the thickest cold foam you can imagine on top. Oh, and snacks? Yes to all.

What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
Recommend? Easily The Ringer Fantasy Football Show. Whether you’re into football or not, the tangents they go on are worth tuning in for every episode. My actual favorite isn’t one I’d recommend to just anyone, though. I never expect to find another person who would appreciate The Big Picture podcast as much as I do.

If you were a professional wrestler, what would your character name be and what would your entrance theme song be?
Jay Karsinakis. My entrance theme would be “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” by the late, great DMX.

If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
In a dream scenario, I’d be played by Zac Efron. There are absolutely no similarities, but let a man dream. It would feel like Uncut Gems and be an hour and a half of constant stress and anxiety.

What was your very first job?
I started rolling burritos at Chipotle back before they were everywhere you looked or running commercials. The good ol’ days.

What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
There are probably cooler answers, but if you asked the childhood version of me, it would have to be Rugrats.

If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
The past, easily. As someone who overthinks every decision in life, it’s the only move. Plus, how many more years is Earth going to remain livable anyway?

If you taught a 45-minute class at CNP University, what would you be the professor of?
Improvising Your Way Through a Game of Music Bingo. There’s no way I could teach anything knowledge-related, but I’m so passionate about making that game as fun as possible.

If you had to choose an animal sidekick that speaks fluent English, what animal would you choose?
A prairie dog. Them boys are incredible. Just look at ’em. I’m assuming these rules mean I get to hang out with my sidekick, and that’s the dream. Sign me up today.

If you could only eat one specific meal from the CNP cafeteria for the rest of your life, what would you be eating?
Mango habanero wings. Boneless, though, because I have no pride and would still like to be able to take my contacts out before bed.

What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Most of them, to be honest. Harry Potter is the obvious one. I know nothing about the magical fella.

If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
I’d wager Ashleigh. She epitomizes planning and delegation. Meanwhile, I’d be one of the first to go. I’m not good at much.
