Deb

Host

Meet Deb!

What is the best part about being a trivia host?
The absolute joy of watching grown adults argue over whether a tomato is technically a fruit. Always the people, but mostly the chaos. Music is the best because people love yelling, “What year did this come out?!?” on repeat.

What is the best piece of hosting advice you have ever received?
“Say it confidently, even if you’re wrong.”

What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
Jogging, walking, gardening, reading, baking, being on the water, concerts, and basically anything that lets me escape reality.

What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
Fun fact: No coffee for me. I love tea. Pour me a refreshing green tea any day.

Snack: Anything I can eat standing up while multitasking. Thankfully, this includes dark chocolate and popcorn.

What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
WAY too many books, movies, and shows to count. I’ll give mostly anything a chance. Schitt’s Creek is up there because it’s comfort, chaos, and character development—my holy trinity. The Golden Girls is a classic. SmartLess is a go-to podcast for no reason except that I like the banter. If we’re going serious, Mel Robbins and a million other podcasts that I can’t get to but seem interesting.

If you were a professional wrestler, what would your character name be and what would your entrance theme song be?
Feral and Fabulous—this seems badass with a side of cute.

My entrance song would be “Eye of the Tiger.” Why not? I’ve been told I’m feisty. Seems appropriate.

If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
A dramedy with suspiciously good background music.

I’d be played by Jennifer Lawrence, SJP, or Jennifer Aniston because they’re clumsy, sarcastic, fashionable, and somehow still likable.

What is one business buzzword or phrase you absolutely cannot stand?
“Circle back.”

If you want to talk later, just say that. I’m not a wagon wheel.

What was your very first job?
Babysitting. Nothing prepares you for adulthood like getting paid $20 to keep tiny humans alive for four hours. From there, I moved on to retail at Boscov’s because they paid weekly and had a discount.

If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
The future, obviously. I already know what happened in the past—I lived it, survived it, and frankly don’t need to repeat some clothing trends.

If you taught a 45-minute class at CNP University, what would you be the professor of?
“How to Look Like You Have Your Life Together While Actively Not Having Your Life Together.” Elective credit. Very popular. Always full.

If you had to choose an animal sidekick that speaks fluent English, what animal would you choose?
A Maine Coon cat because mine already speak their minds and act like they run the house.

If you could only eat one specific meal from the CNP cafeteria for the rest of your life, what would you be eating?
Whatever the taco bar equivalent is, I’m there.

What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Anything involving geography (college grades can prove this). I’d be fine if it were limited to a 50-mile radius of my home.

If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
Not me—I’d be gone immediately after trying to “forage” and accidentally grabbing poison ivy. The survivor is the host who always brings snacks and thinks outside the box. That person has their life together. They’d build a shelter, start a fire, and somehow still run a themed trivia night on the beach. Good for them.
