General Trivia
The Basics
Our General Trivia nights are built to have something for everyone. You do not need to be a trivia expert, you just need a good team with a mix of random knowledge. That is what makes the best trivia teams anyway, a group of friends, family, coworkers, or regulars where everybody knows a little bit about something.
Each game has 4 rounds and runs about two hours. Our hosts read every question twice, grade your teams between rounds, and scores are updated throughout the game.
Round 1 is our warm up round, with easier 1 point general trivia questions to get everyone started and build some confidence. We mix in a couple of multiple choice questions to ensure We end that round with a tougher 5 point bonus question, just to keep everyone honest.
Round 2 changes depending on the venue. Some shows have a tougher question round, where the questions are worth more points and the competition starts to pick up. Other shows have a music round, where we play a short 10 second clip of a recognizable song and teams get one point for the song title and one point for the artist.

Hint: To know which version your venue has, check our daily schedule. We post it every day at 11AM on our website, Facebook, Instagram and app. If you see a 🎶next to a General Trivia venue, that means Round 2 is a music round. We also include hints at the top of the schedule with ⁉️ marking the puzzle hint and 🎶marking the music round hint. You’ll have plenty of time before trivia night kicks off to study up on those two rounds!
Round 3 is our puzzle round, which gives the game a fun visual change of pace. Your host will bring a sheet around to your team and you will work through the prompt together. Check that ⁉️ hint before you play, so you can “study” ahead of time.
Round 4 is our Guess Your Score round. It plays like the first round with one big twist. Teams must guess how many questions they answered correctly and if their guess is correct, they double their score for the round. That means even if your team is trailing, you still have a chance to make a big comeback and win the whole game. It keeps things competitive right up until the end.
As our name suggests, there is absolutely no cheating. No phones, no smart watches, no Shazam, no pocket encyclopedias, no sneaky Googling under the table. Teams are limited to 10 people to keep things fair and fun. And please do not yell out answers, no matter how exciting it is to finally know one.
Everyone wants to win the prize by being the top team, but the true highlight of these nights is getting together with your people, arguing over answers, laughing at the ones you should have known, and having a fun reason to come back week after week, night after night, and spend time with those you love.
