Host
Meet Daniel!
What is the best part about being a trivia host?
Meeting new people from all different walks of life. Even if folks have very little in common, everyone has something in common when they play trivia together.
What is the best piece of hosting advice you have ever received?
Just chat with people! Someone playing might be looking for someone to talk to for just a little bit to help them feel more comfortable. You also never know who you’re going to meet!
What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
College football! I could talk for hours about the last ~15 years of the sport and how much I love the traditions, schools, and history.
What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
Beef jerky… my wife isn’t a fan, so I never need to share, but I go through it too fast and have to pace myself…
What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
Too many movies to name. My Cousin Vinny and Smokey and the Bandit are some of my favorites that I always try to work into everyday conversation!
What is one business buzzword or phrase you absolutely cannot stand?
“Circle back”… Let’s not circle back to something. Let’s just get it done.
What was your very first job?
Working on an assembly line at a manufacturing plant, putting argon gas in windows. It probably influenced me to become an engineer!
If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
It depends… if I can influence past events and buy Bitcoin for pennies on the dollar, I’d probably do that. If I can only view things but not influence them, send me to the future. I want to see all of the cool stuff we’ll be able to accomplish down the road!
If you taught a 45-minute class at CNP University, what would you be the professor of?
College football! Just like it is my favorite hobby, I could give several lectures on tons of details about the sport and its traditions!
What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Opera and theater. Just… not my cup of tea.
If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
Being that we are all trivia hosts, I’d have to imagine that someone knows all of the fun facts about the most important things to do in a survival situation. Or someone recently watched an episode of Man vs. Wild followed by Survivorman. I’d start with them, then go down the list. Knowing me, I’d be somewhere near the bottom…
