Josh #4
Trivia Host
Meet Josh #4!
What is the best part about being a trivia host?
Being able to get paid to have fun and be myself. I have a background in journalism and being on the radio in college that I don’t get to use in my main job, so it’s nice to be able to get behind the mic for a few hours a week and entertain an audience again.
What is the best piece of hosting advice you have ever received?
As cliche as it sounds, the best advice I was given was to just be yourself and have fun. Don’t make it about yourself, keep control of the show, and do your best to make it fun for everyone. People are deciding to spend their time and money to come to your show. The least I can do is make those two hours as enjoyable as possible.
What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
Without a doubt, I have to say sports. My life revolves around sports 365 days out of the year. I am exceptionally passionate about my West Virginia Mountaineers, where I earned my degree back in 2016. I also LOVE food. Cooking, baking, eating, ordering… you name it!
What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
I just got a coffee grinder for Christmas this year and have been having a lot of fun experimenting with different drinks and combos. Currently, my go-to is a mocha and Costa Rican blend mixed and French pressed, then poured over ice with a splash of cream.
What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
Either Pardon My Take or The Yak, both on Barstool’s platform. The Yak is by far the funniest content I’ve seen in a long time, and I’ve been following it since about 2018.
If you were a professional wrestler, what would your character name be and what would your entrance theme song be?
The Mountaineer, and I would come out to “Here Come the Mountaineers” by the Davisson Brothers Band.
If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
I would definitely say my life would be a comedy written by either Mel Brooks or Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Let’s just say Brad Pitt would play me because who doesn’t love Brad Pitt??
What was your very first job?
My very first job was working in Duke’s Lagoon at good ol’ Dutch Wonderland.
If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
I would immediately warp back to 2/14/1980 to witness the greatest moment in American sports history, the Miracle on Ice in Lake Placid, NY.
If you had to choose an animal sidekick that speaks fluent English, what animal would you choose?
Either a dog because literally EVERYONE would listen to a talking dog, or a river otter because I’m absolutely obsessed with them.
If you could only eat one specific meal from the CNP cafeteria for the rest of your life, what would you be eating?
Japanese steakhouse hibachi, hands down. It’s my favorite meal, and there are so many different options!!
What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Either literature or pop culture/movies. Not a book reader by any means, and I was never big on movies.
If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
Vince.
