Justin

Host

Meet Justin!

What is the best part about being a trivia host?
Bringing the party, seeing people have fun, and learning facts!

What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
Video games, percussion, Warhammer 40K, live music photography, and sarcasm.

What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
Mint tea.

What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
Dune. The spice must flow.

If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
My life IS a movie, but I’d like a truly disabled actor to portray me: Atticus Shaffer.

What was your very first job?
Trading post manager at Camp Mack, slinging slushies to Cub Scouts.

What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
Hey Arnold! for the jazz music and Arnold’s room. I also loved all the city settings. Growing up in PA, I only ever saw cows and fields.

If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
I would visit the past. I think I was born about 40-50 years too late. I would likely spend the rest of my days following the Grateful Dead around.

If you taught a 45-minute class at CNP University, what would you be the professor of?
Wheelchair accessibility in the 21st century.

If you had to choose an animal sidekick that speaks fluent English, what animal would you choose?
I already have an animal sidekick in my service dog, Roomba. She reads me so well, and I’d love to know her opinions of me and my choices sometimes.

If you could only eat one specific meal from the CNP cafeteria for the rest of your life, what would you be eating?
An all-beef hot dog with “hot dog sauce,” AKA meat chili, mustard, and onions. I’m a cheap date.

What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Horror movies! Growing up, I was easily injured by jump scares, so I’ve naturally avoided anything remotely scary since then.

If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
Vern. He could keep himself occupied with all the knowledge he’s gained through trivia writing until someone comes to rescue him.
