Ryan

Host

Meet Ryan!

What is the best part about being a trivia host?
Watching complete strangers become mortal enemies over whether Pluto is a planet. (Spoiler: It’s not.)

What is the best piece of hosting advice you have ever received?
“Confidence covers a multitude of sins… including mispronouncing Icelandic volcanoes.”

What is a skill, hobby, or passion you have outside of hosting?
Massage therapy. Turns out people enjoy both useless facts and having knots removed from their shoulders.

What is your go-to coffee order, drink order, or favorite snack?
Cheese. Just… cheese. I’m willing to answer follow-up questions, but not apologize.

What is a book, podcast, TV show, or movie you are always recommending to people?
Taskmaster. It’s proof that human civilization was a mistake, but an entertaining one.

If you were a professional wrestler, what would your character name be and what would your entrance theme song be?
Quiz Khalifa, entering to “Another One Bites the Dust.”

If your life was a movie, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
A mockumentary starring whoever lost a bet.

What is one business buzzword or phrase you absolutely cannot stand?
“Synergy.” Just nope.

What was your very first job?
I once convinced people to pay me for actual labor. It was a simpler time.

What was your favorite childhood cartoon?
Animaniacs because it was basically trivia training for children.

If you had a time machine that only worked once, would you visit the past or the future?
The future, specifically long enough to copy down lottery numbers and discover I still somehow lose.

If you taught a 45-minute class at CNP University, what would you be the professor of?
“Snack Pairings Through the Ages.”

If you had to choose an animal sidekick that speaks fluent English, what animal would you choose?
A capybara. They just seem so emotionally stable. Maybe that would balance me out.

If you could only eat one specific meal from the CNP cafeteria for the rest of your life, what would you be eating?
Chicken tenders and fries. I’m not proud of this answer, but I am honest.

What theme trivia would you absolutely come in last place at?
Professional sports. I know exactly enough to embarrass myself.

If our trivia company was stranded on a deserted island, which host do you think would survive the longest?
Me! Years of watching teams irrationally trust their final-round guesses have taught me one thing: confidence matters more than facts. That’s basically how civilization was built.
